Option 2 : $800 + $100 to upgrade HDD to SSD
Mid 2011 27 inch iMac
Processor: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5 (QuadCore)
Memory: 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
Software: OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) (OSX Mavericks)
HDD Storage: 1TB (@ 7200RPM)
Comes with Wireless English keyboard and trackpad

I would not buy either. Especially the one that has been opened. The 2011 will run warm when under work load. Nothing wrong with that, just the newer slim iMac's run virtually cool to the touch.

If you are going to to consider spending $1300 on an iMac, why not look at a refurb from the Apple Refurb store and get warranty included for a little bit more money. Like the one I posted below. Then you will at least have peace of mind. Plus within a years period you can extend that warranty another 2 years if you want.

If I really had to make a decision, then it would be the 2011 with an external SSD drive. Just a thought.
