I currently use an Acer laptop. I removed the Vista junk and put XP on there. After months of use it's finally starting to konk out on me. Even before this, bits of plastic that covered the heatsink on the back were coming off and resulting in me burning my leg! I'm gonna demand a refund with a threat that I'll contact Consumer Standards. Once I have my £600, I'm gonna save for an iMac. I will use it for the following:

Half-Life 2
Rail Simulator (pretty intensive, but can run on low end)
Internet
Music (the main thing I use my computers for)
Windows Live Messenger

I am considering getting this model:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/FB323B/A?mco=MjE0NDk5Mw
But I do not know whether the graphics will be enough to handle Rail Simulator acceptably. My laptop has an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS at 256MB, and the game runs perfectly on that. Am I okay getting the base iMac shown above, or should I get a higher model? Thanks in advance.

Wait until after MacWorld

Sounds great guys! Doubt I'll be able to afford the new models, but who knows?

Agree..There's gonna be some new updated iMac and update on the MB and MBP's too...Can't wait :D

I don't think that there will be updated MB & MBP's. That just happened a couple of months ago, they're not due yet. Though they might update the 17" MBP to unibody.
