Hi,

Will it be possible, for example, to purchase an iMac with a 6950m 2gb GPU directly from an apple store (physical one, not online :)) ?

Or will they only offer the base models ?

Thanks

Can some call my store and ask? I'm in school and can't get to a phone.

Just called up my local Apple Store

I said "Hi just wondering if you have the new iMacs in stock?"

He said, "Unfortunately not"

and then went on to tell me that they haven't been told when they will be receiving any of the new iMac stock

:( Online it is then.

Righto can someone please call my store???

They usually only have the base models. If you want the higher components, you would have to order online.

Not always.

Mac stores carry the fully specced up MBAs in addition to the base models available elsewhere.

I suspect this is for the wealthier individuals who might wander in and they can get "the best money can buy" on the spot.
