Everyone had that issue and said that it wasnt apparent on the white version. Based on that, do you think the same will apply on the ipad air?

B Bokes macrumors 6502 Mar 4, 2008 468 14 Oct 28, 2013 #3 we had 2 black mini 16gig- exchanged for 2 white 32gig. Both black minis had scuffs marks out of the box. Both white minis are scuff free. that said: My full size ipad 3 in black was scuff free out of box- so go figure.

The black Mini's have a black anodized finish which scuffs easy - the iPad 3 whether it be black or white is just plain Aluminium like the white Mini.

It has a Space Grey shell so is still anodized but probably will better camouflage the marks, White iPad will be the best way to prevent it altogether (you can still mark/scratch them just not as easy).
