My Dad got a new iPad Pro 13 Inch M5 and his old one was an iPad Pro 11 M2. My Mom has an 11 inch iPad Air M3. Since he upgraded his he wants me to either take his old one or my Moms and whichever one I don't choose she will get or keep, she already told me she does not care which one she keeps as long as she can keep playing solitare and watch youtube. The Pro is 256GB, the Air is 128GB. Both are in pristine condition as they always used a screen protector and case.

Any input? It would be much appreciated. I am not a "power user" at all.

Both are great devices but I’d take the Pro for the promotion, Face ID, and double the storage.

If your mother is already happy with the Air, then it seems less disruptive for her if you get the Pro. However, if she would prefer switching to Face ID, or her use case would benefit more from the superior speaker system on the M2 Pro, then you might suggest she take the Pro.

I'm also not a power user, but my iPad is my MOST used device. The only differences I notice between Pro and non-Pro are Face ID, speaker sound, and smoother scrolling, but the tasks still get done and they all do basic stuff the same, and even the cheapest iPad is still a good experience.

100% get the iPad Pro, and I agree with @JCCL, it's not even close for me. Big benefit of the Pro in the 120hz ProMotion, Quad speakers, etc. Getting more storage is a bigger bonus. You 100% won't notice the difference between the M2 and M3.

Even if the storage was flipped (eg. Pro had 128gb, Air had 256gb), I still would say go with the Pro, hands-down.

Thank you all for the help and insight! I went ahead and chose the Pro, after reading everything you all mentioned it seemed like the best option!

Its all very much appreciated! Thanks! 🙂
