I'll be getting mine tomorrow, but it seems like the people most happy with their new iPhone 4's are the 3G owners due to the significant speed difference. Which iPhone are you upgrading from?

3G
ever since they have announced the specs of the new one, my mind has made me see how painfully slow my 3G is
if I had a 3GS i would probably hang on to it for another year, but that's just me

A 2G hand me down that I used as a back-up phone and Internet tablet.

This 4 is my first official iPhone purchase as the previous ones never really interested me when it came to the hardware and features I wanted in a phone. The App Store and jailbreaking always kept me interested in its potential as a platform. If there is one thing Apple does great, it is software. Other companies like Nokia stop caring to update their phones. They move on to something after a year or so and the updates are so minimal and forgettable.

When I do get my preorder finally in July, I will be upgrading from a 3g

How are 3gs users getting a iphone 4 if their not even upgrade eligible this year? Unless your just buying the phone without a contract and selling the 3gs to make up for the cost?

I'll be paying the early upgrade 399 price. I'd much rather just buy the phone at the 599 no commitment price, but i was informed at the apple store that it was not being allowed.

From the 3GS, which is why prior to the reviews and shared media, I wasn't that excited.

Now I'm almost as excited as I was about the iPhone 1st gen in '07.

To every one saying the 3GS wasn't worth the upgrade. You're wrong. It's so much faster and snappier. It was worth every penny. In terms of speed the new iPhone I can't see how could be noticably faster than the 3GS.

I had a 3GS, and every intention to hang on to it.

But AT&T letting me upgrade with the full discount, plus the sheer quality of the new iPhone's screen and design makes this upgrade far too tempting to pass up.

First iPhone for me! I've been on Verizon since the first iPhone was released, but the iPhone 4 convinced me to make the switch.
