I want to buy a new iPod touch, but I am unsure as to which size to get. I can get 32 or 128. There is quite a price difference, and I am unsure if I need it for my purposes. I want music, and games. Maybe movies but not likely. I will likely use it for pictures too but mainly games a music.

No one will be able to answer this question but you, as it will be up to you on what is stored on the iPod.

I will say this though, I have never purchased too much storage on an Apple device, but there has been plenty of times that I did not purchase enough storage.

Not having to worry about deleting stuff to make room for more stuff is worth the extra cost to me.

If price is an issue, look at refurbs. Generally, you never have enough memory on an iPod, because it's more convenient to have the music you want at your fingertips than to swap out music from time to time. My iPod is ancient, but it is a 64 and despite having the 30 pin connector, it just keeps going and going as my car music source.

Have you considered looking at used phones instead? In addition to better batter life, you might also be able to get a bigger screen and/or faster CPU. The "current" iPod Touch is now over 3 years old and, at the time of its release, was already sporting a nearly year-old CPU. A used iPhone SE, which can be picked up for a decent price, would give you a far better experience (CPU, battery, and camera) than an iPod Touch.

I have used old iPhones as iPods, and it was okay for the purpose.

But, if using fir mostly music on the built-in music app, I would stick with the iPod Touch. The Music app on the iPod Touch is much better than the iPhone version.

For example, you can adjust the EQ directly from the app on the Touch, but the iPhone EQ is hidden many clucks and swipes away in settings.

One thing you may hate about the touch is the battery life is not great. Set your expectations to 2 hours or so.

I'm not sure what people are doing with their iPod Touch to only get 2 hours out of them. Maybe if the battery is no longer holding a charge, but I would go a few days before charging mine from just playing music.

Imo, the battery life while playing music on the Touch has been about the same as any recent iPhone I have purchased.

Get the 128. 32 is WAAYYY too small...

I'm using the 5gen 64GB, & was thinking about updating, but everyone complains about the battery life.

But if you want to buy mine, I will sell it to you, & get a 6gen 128GB.
(since i mainly use mine to listen to podcasts @ work @ night)

The 6th gen has the A8 chip (i think) & it's too powerful & drains the battery if you leave WiFi (& such on,)

I agree with 32gb being too small for games and music, some videos. so 128 would be adequate for your needs

Then again as others wrote, the iPod touch 6 gen is now over 3 years old and unless you find a really good offer I wouldn't buy one at all, but rather look at similar priced and sized options like an iPhone SE which offers a bigger battery and a newer processor, the A9

I own the iPod touch 6 gen, 64gb, got it on launch date and can confirm that the battery does not last very long, never did, even when new ...

If you can wait two more weeks, you most certainly will not see a new iPod touch but likely some price drops in older iPhones which will give you much better value for your money

Yeah i wanted to get a 128GB iPod touch 6 for listening to podcasts @ work (since i work alone @ nights,)
then read all about the too-short battery life...
if/when a new one comes out, i will get it...
the only problem with mine is it's iOS 9.3.5. & new games aren't supported & crash/are slow...
& now apps are all getting updated & won't be compatible anymore :(
