Which is better, 2011 13" i7 or the new 2012 13" i5?

I need to purchase one of these and need advice on which is the better buy. My dilemma is the i7 on the old vs the USB 3.0 on the new.

I use it for Internet, wp, photo editing, some video upload and conversion, nothing very intensive.

I need a new MacBook though. I keep them for a few years, so trying to figure out which is the better buy.

I would think you would most likely benefit from USB 3 in the future then the slight difference in processor power. For a general user, you'll like buy or have bought a usb 3 peripheral before and that will save you minutes during a transfer over what would be seconds of waiting on the computer to process. Just my generalized thinking, obviously I haven't seen benchmarks between the two.

I'd like to know this too. Also curious if the spec bump from 2.5 i5 to 2.9 i7 is worth $300.
