Here is my situation...
I have the new Retina Macbook Pro. It is defective and Apple is sending a replacement.
I was able to back everything up that I had on it to an external drive using SuperDuper software.
That backup has remnants of Lion on it, since the MBP came with Lion and then was upgraded to Mountain Lion.
When the replacement arrives, is it easier/better to use the migration assistant to restore everything from the hard drive -or- just use SuperDuper instead?
My concern?
I suppose I'd rather build upon a fresh copy of Mountain Lion (using the migration tool) rather than restore a backup that has remnants of Lion on it.
I am concerned. I am not certain if migration does as good a job as a full restored backup would do.
I would be doing either function from the same external hard drive.
