Which is faster, USB 3.0 or SD?

I have a go pro, and I take a lot of video on it. I would like to speed up the transfer of the video to my computer. Would a USB 3.0 card reader be faster than the built in card reader in the MacBook Pro? I use class 10 Sandisk MicroSD cards with a MicroSD to SD adapter.

I'd venture that the limiting factor will be the SD card itself and not which interface your card reader uses.

It'd be the same.

But if possible, use UHS-II cards instead. They'll be really fast.
