which is faster?

im looking at older mac laptops and i came across a powerbook g3 vs a ibook g4

ones a g3 an the other is g4

normally id go with the g4 but isnt the powerbook suppose to be faster then the normal ibook?

so lets say there was a powerbook g3 and a ibook g3 naturally id go with the powerbook but since theres a g3 and g4 difference i was wondering which one would be faster?

or better yet whats the main differences between the powerbook and ibook that i should know before buying?

The G4 will run circles around the G3.

I had a 900MHz G3 and an 800 MHz G4 was considerable faster.
