I currently use an Atom 330 Dual Core based machine as my home server. I use it to live encode videos through AirVideo to stream to my iPad.. but the encoding is choppy and laggy. I have the chance to buy a 1.8 dual G5 PowerMac - would this be more powerful and encode video faster than the atom??

Power Mac G5 1.8GHz has a geekbench of 1550
Atom 330 has a geekbench of about 1300
So it's about 20% faster according to geekbench.
