Which is more space efficient, when in use? Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse?

Hi All,

Brain storming here.


How space efficient is the trackpad in use? Does it use less space than the Magic Mouse?


Use:
Space is a premium. I'll be doing casual stuff on dining table, next to the missus doing her sewing etc.
My 13" MBA will be elevated, to more eye level, and I will be using external keyboard and mouse/trackpad
For simple web browsing, MS Office apps etc.
Not for intensive media creation apps etc.



E.g.
Does Trackpad need more space, catering for palm wresting on desk, when using it?
2 handed Gestures ever needed?

I have both but the mouse did not leave the drawer in a long time. I prefer the Trackpad for two reasons: ergonomics and space

There's a trackpad setting that used to be front and center but is now semi-buried in the accessibility options to enable three-finger dragging on the trackpad. That solves most of the reason people prefer the mouse over the trackpad.
