WHICH IS safer to use when checking your bank accounts online & purchasing from ebay, Safari or Chrome?

Assuming you've installed all available software updates, they're both equally safe. As is Firefox.

I use and trust Safari. Another thing you can do is always type in the URL yourself and not follow links.

Just be sure to check the link at the top, and use updated software, and you'll be fine!

Safari, Chrome, Firefox, doesn't matter, be sure to keep them up to date with the latest security patches or versions. What does matter is making sure YOU use common sense, do not follow links sent in an email, use known good links from bookmarks you created. Ensure auto login and remember me are turned off forcing you to type in your id and password each time. Use strong passwords, long string with uppler, lower case letters, numbers and or symbols of unrelated values...do not use your wifes name with captial and her birthday as an example and finally be sure you are connected via a 128 bit SSL connection. Change your password every couple of months, do not access your bank from any other computer but your own and avoid public wifi spots.

If you do all that, you are being about as safe as you can be these days.
