My sytem is OSX 10.3.9 for the moment I'm running FireFox and Safari, but Safari crashes quite often and wont open a lot of pages.
I want to keep Firefox (2.0.0.20) but want another browser to back it up.
What do you suggest ?

There's something wrong here... there shouldn't be a lot of problems with Safari either crashing or failing to open a lot of pages. The last Panther version of Safari was reasonably stable and usable....

It might be worth a shot to upgrade your FireFox install to version 3, which I believe is still in beta.

Uh Oh. I only have 10.5.6. But i think that safari is the best in terms of compatibility, yet fire fox is best for privacy. So choose based on what you want.

i had a 10.3 machine not long ago. an ibook g3. was pretty good on safari. the only thing was even with my 50mb connection at home and even faster one in uni/work (research student, uni is my work too) it did not render the pages properly and was still slow. it could just be the internet has moved on from our machines?

i remember when i did have the ibook i actually used (now dont kill me) internet explorer for mac. it seemed a lot better, in my short time using it, at rendering the pages than the older safari.
i don't think it was a problem with the machine as i re-installed the OS again so it was at its factory state.
