Just picked up a black Magic Keyboard at the Apple Store. I wasn't aware there were previous generations of this product until reading some threads. Now I'm unsure which I have.

The sticker on the back notes that it is for iPad Pro 1st and 2nd generation.

I would assume you have the 11 inch model. It wasn’t changed so any generation of Magic Keyboard is the current one.

I can confirm that you have the current model, since as pap said it was unchanged. When I got my keyboard from the Apple Store I noticed that it said gen 1 and 2 on the back but didn't say anything about gen 3 (current gen), the employee confirmed that all 11-inch Magic Keyboards are the same.

Thanks all. Just saw that other thread asking if the “old” MKB will work and it threw me off. Another thread is saying that they shifted the magnets in the “new” ones. Apples site also has a “new” designation on the product page.

’Magic Keyboard for iPad’ was first released just last year. Only the 12.9-inch one received minor update this year. So if you’re buying the 11-inch one (apparently so since it supports 1st and 2nd gen. of something as you said), there is no new one this year.
