Which is Thicker - 2011 iMac or 2012 iMac?

When I first seen the new 2012 iMacs in photos I kept looking at the rear of my 2010 iMac and kept thinking all they did was minus the thickness behind of the glass but I believe I'm wrong and that the rear of the new 2012 iMacs are completely newly designed from the previous models. I see it looks like it has more curve to it and somewhat a steeper hump. Because of the steepness of the hump as you close into the center of the rear it almost looks as if the total thickness is thicker than the previous models.

Does anyone here know if it's thicker and if it is thinner by how much exactly? Also what would the total weight be on the 2012 27" iMac models be vs the previous models?

The weight of a 2012 27" iMac is 4 kg less than a 2011 27" iMac.

Does it matter which monitor is thicker if the duck foot is the same? You would need to plan the same desk space.
