I'm looking to buy a M4 Pro MBP as my main device and have the opportunity to choose between two devices.

Both are Space Black with the 14C CPU/20C GPU M4 Pro with 24GB memory:

14" with 1TB storage

-or-

16" with Nano Texture Display and 512GB storage

I'd be making a big saving on both, and they're near enough the same cost to me.

My use case:

-99% of the time used at home
-1080p/4K video editing in Premiere Pro (mostly 5min to 30min videos, occasionally longer) - limited effects/transitions etc
- Occasional After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator creating UI mockups and simple UI animations
-Usual web browsing (Safari/Chrome) and spreadsheets, MS Office etc

Which should I go for? The 512GB SSD is a concern but I guess an external drive is an option. The big screen is a huge appeal obviously and the nano texture a bonus.

Then again the 14" might be too small for effective video editing and is less thermally efficient. But it has that 1TB ssd.

Thanks

I recently went from a 16” M3M to a 14” M4P. Performance on the 14” M4P was great for my light usage. The down side was the going from a 16” to 14” for me. I returned the 14” and bought a 16” M4P but had to buy the 16” M4P with 48/512 since that’s all my local Apple Store had on hand. I move around a lot so the 16” hasn’t been too cumbersome to use.
