I'm looking to replace an old g4 tower with something newer.
My partner has just bought a new Intel Imac which I like very much, however my budget is only about £600 tops. I've seen some white imacs for sale second hand and wondered how these would compare? Any advice would be appreciated!

Assuming that you have a display, I'd get a mini in your situation.

Yeah, go with an intel mini - with snow leo only running on intels, it will give your machine considerably more life.

gonna have to agree.. sonce you have a K,M,&M id say the most sensical solution for you is the Mac Mini... and you can always upgrade the ram and hdd later if you decide its necessary...

Depends on what you want to do. If you'll be doing some heavy h.264 avc processing you'll be pushing the mini. Otherwise a mini refurb $499 is plenty with 4gb ram upgrade.

I'd go with the mini, unless you're looking for something more portable (you know what I mean )...in that case I'd recommend getting a refurbished whitebook.
