Which Macbook for use outside?

i am considering the new Macbook Pro 13" and the Macbook Air 13". i read that the macbook air's had a kind of half-glossy/half-matte display. my real question is, what is the experience of trying to use either computer outside? i have an old macbook now (07) and an iPad and both are completely useless outside. are either of these even usable outside? i know the macbook 15" has an anti-glare option, but i don't want a laptop that big/heavy. obviously i'm not going to use it outside very often, but wouldn't like to be completely handicapped if the situation arises.

I have tried to use my 13" pro outside and it is awful. If you are planning on using your macbook outside ever go 15" antiglare or air. The air will still have some glare though.

15" anti glare in direct sunlight is still a PITA.
