I remember there being a site that would answer this sort of question. Oh well.. I'll just ask what you guys think. So which macbook is least likely to need repair?

I'm looking for a used macbook on ebay preferably with applecare. If it didn't have applecare--it would have to be the model that lasts the longest.

Thanks

I still see some refurbished MacBook Pro's (non-unibody) on the Apple Store. You might want to keep an eye out for one of those. You may be paying a little more than you want, but you'll still have a solid laptop that's going to last.

you mean non-8600m gt mbps, right? the 8600ms can be defective.

I'd say white macbook with nvidia 9400m, perfect long lasting machine.

It is a very good and fast computer for usual tasks and more. The components will last you long with proper use. It is a top notch machine.

They have proven their reliability since 2006.

+1 to whitebooks. they're solid little goers. Sometimes plastic chips can come off the casing (like on mine) but that's the only problem, and it's only cosmetic.

Don't get Core Duo whitebooks. Only C2D and above.

people only say the white, because it has been around for longer than the unibody

I would think that if you dont throw hammers at the screen, the unibody 13" is going to be one of hte best lasting macbooks. There are no real defects with them, their chassis is immortal.

If you are after something to last then get a unibody. It wont show its age like the white macbooks do.

Don't get a white Macbook, as it *will* crack in time. Get a unibody and call it a day.
