Guys,

I would like to know what ranged of model cab be upgraded with dual hd? I had done to my 2007 and would like to upgrade. I know a lot of them have sealed rams and hd with no cdrom so it will be nice to be able to get the years and model that can be upgraded the way I want.

Let me know

Thanks

Anything non-retina can be. On anything pre-2011 you're limited to SATA 2 on the HDD port though.

So if I get 2010 it will be good to upgrade?

You can indeed. Anything that doesn't have a retina display (and thus has an optical drive) can have the SSD + HD config. Be aware though that the mid 2010 models only have SATA 2, so you're going to be limited with SSD performance. RAM is removable and upgradable, but be aware that some mid 2010 15" MBPs suffered from GPU related kernel panics.

Honestly though - I wouldn't be investing in a 5 year old machine. The CPU (even the top of the line i7) in the 2010 MacBook Pros will be outpaced by even the recent entry level i5s.
