It's completely pointless to ask for buying advice without giving any helpful information on what your uses are. Odds are (since you're asking), that processor speed won't matter at all to you. Facebook and e-mail aren't very demanding applications.
 
I come from an old 13" Macbook and just got the 15" i7 and I definitely think that the extra screen real estate is worth the extra weight, but I have yet to lug it around campus.

As for the processor, I would go with the 2.4ghz since the 2.53 is also an i5. There are no other differences other than the hard drive, which you can upgrade for $100 instead of $200 for the hard drive and the processor upgrade (which will not have an impact on your day-to-day usage).

However, I cannot say much beyond that because like the others have said, you didn't give details. I think that if you were doing intensive stuff you would have mentioned it, so in terms of power I would think the 13" would be more than enough, but if you can afford the 15" and want to make the real estate for weight trade-off, get the 2.4.
