My 2010 macbook has packed up so considering the below 2019 13inch macbook pro. I use it mainly for storing pictures and browsing, i cant decide if the 2.4ghz is worth the less storage (512gb) or go for 1.4ghz with 1tb ssd? I have a 2k budget

The 2.4ghz has extra fans/ports but unsure if that is worth less ssd?

1.4ghz 1tb

2.4ghz 512gb ssd

Or any other combo? I store pictures so the extra storage would be handy but can always use external drives. Should I consider an Air?

If you use it for storing pictures and browsing, get the largest hard drive and slowest processor that fits your budget. Choose a screen size that fits the needs of your eyes.

I was hesitant between the 1.4 and 2.4 but decided to go for the 1.4 since for my use (media, coding and light photo editing) the slight difference in performance was not enough to justify the 2.4.

So, I would advice to go with the 1.4 with a 1Tb ssd.

All reports I’ve read are that the 1.4GHz machine is the one to go with. It runs in turbo mode most of the time and the 2.4GHz machine is not much faster

I would go for the 2.4 on sale at Costco for $1499!
Or a 2019 AIR which is capable too
