Which MacOS/OSX Version is the minimum needed in order to have ‘Screen Time’ enabled for my high school son?

Son is starting high school and needs a Mac to do his assignments.

He has an iPhone and iPad with parental screen time enabled and for the past two years has had an account on my personal MacBook Pro and his screen time usage extends to this MBP of mine running Monterey.

I’m wondering how far back of a Mac model I can buy to which he can can an iMac in his bedroom and I don’t worry that he’s using the computer longer than he should.

(Don’t need parenting tips on this fyi, thanks though, just compatible Software version in which screen time will work)
