Hi, I just upgraded my iMac8,1 27inch to 2x2gb (4gb) Ram and an 128gb crucial BX500 SSD

I tried catalina on it (tried mojave first, but the sound wasnt working properly on mojave so I upgraded to catalina) and it worked fine, exept for MS office, especially word was really slow to start and to work with.

Do you think I should go back to High Sierre and Word will work quicker?

Then I upgraded an iMac 10,1 21,5inch from 2x2gb to 4x2gb (4 to 8 gb) Ram and a 256gb SSD. What OS would work best (for MS Office) with that one? Sure it would be nice to install the latest GoodNotes version to sync with ipad Pro, but that is probably a dream...

I think the problem is MS Office, and changing to a different OS version may not make much difference. What version of MS Office are you running?

ok I might do so.. besides this, is there a genereal recommendation on which unsupported OS to install on which MAC ?
