Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I'm getting ready to upgrade to a new MBP (I currently have a 12" Mac PowerPC which has served me well since 2005) and am wondering which actual MBP 15" configuration is available at Apple retail stores.

The reason I ask is that I'm cheap and don't want to pay sales tax. So I'd like to buy my MBP in Delaware (no sales tax). I'm looking to buy a MBP 15" Matte Anti-Glare Hi-Res with the basic configuration: 2 GHz, 4 gb ram, 500 gb HD 5400 rpm.

Does anyone know which configurations are actually available at the retail stores?

Thanks!

My experience buying a 17" was two choices in monitors:
1. Glossy which came with the 2.2 GHz quad i7, 4 GB RAM, 750 GB HD 5,400 RPM.
2. Antiglare with 2.3 GHz quad i7, 4 GB RAM, 750 GB HD

Likely the base 15" will not be available with the Antiglare monitor.

Did you try calling them?

I think generally the Apple Store retail stocks the models that are on its online store site. For example, in the 15" you have the stock 2.0 and 2.2. Some Apple Stores also have the 15" with a 2.3 Hi-Res AG screen but for other configs they will get you to order BTO.

I know they can upgrade the RAM when you buy it because they did that when mine was purchased.
