thinking of buying MBP15 but can not decide with model.
I heard in a french webpage, that the next release of SNOW LEOPARD will be very demanding on graphics, and it will be better to have a better graphic card.
So is the 9400 be enough ?
Or better go for the 9600 ?

thank you very much,

The 9400 is enough and yes, SL will take use of your GPU but Apple (as far as I can tell) would not sell off a machine today that cannot run SL tomorrow.

Given the fact you can't upgrade the GPU after the buying it and SL will leverage the GPU more then Leopard, I think you'll be better off in the short and long run if you avoid the 9400m model and get the dual GPU.

This was the major reason why I opted for the MBP over the MB last October.

9400M is enough for OS acceleration.

If you're going to do heavy 3d stuff the 9600 makes sense.

Some functions in CS4 may also benefit from more than 9400 but I'm not sure.

thank you

And onther question will be,
what is the diferrence beetwin the two cards ?
I guess that power graphics, speed ... ???
And how is it possible to have two cards in the same computer ?
How the commputer decides which one to use ?
I really don't understand ir ...

thank you again.
David
