Hello,

I'm looking at the new 15" MBPs as I'm choosing which laptop I'm going to get. I'm a student who records via a Firestudio into Cubase 5. The computer needs to be able to handle running many plug ins simultaneously. I also have an HD Video camera, that has given my 2.4 ghz PC trouble while trying to edit footage. I'm wondering what specs I need so as to be able to run this for at least 3 years.

Thanks

A macbook pro 2.53 4gigs etc should be enough, but you can find out more information on this forum http://www.futureproducers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4

My recommendation for you would be 2.66GHz 15". Depending on your price, that might be a little too much. The only reason why I say the 2.66Ghz is because of the nVidia 9600 and 9400 and with SL and OpenGL coming you could utilize the power of your GPU as a CPU.
