hi

just wondering if this memory will be ok for a new macbook pro 2011

8GB (2x4GB) PC3-8500 1066MHz DDR3 204pin SODIMM

the memory that it comes installed is

4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB

is the 8gb kit listed above slower memory?

many thanks

Ian

You can go to www.crucial.com and download their memory scan software to find out exactly which type of RAM will be compatible for your Mac. From there, you can search for the 8 GB memory modules as well.

I just installed this Crucial (2x4GB) memory in my new MBP, and it works awesome!

It looks sold out now, but hopefully more will come soon. My MBP recognized it right away with no problems! Hope this helps.
