Which Mini-Diplayport adapters work with 30" Cinema Screen?

Hi there, I managed to pick up a couple of 30" ACD's recently here in the UK for a really good price.
I have never had one of them before and have a mac pro with dual-link dvi that I can connect one to, however, the other one may need to be connected to a laptop or mac mini.
What alternatives are there for the adapter other than Apples genuine one? I have heard that I need the dual-link type in order to get the full resolution? Can someone please point me in the right direction?
