Do people get compliments based on their Apple Watch?!

I thought they’re just like smartphones, everyone has one.
I have numerous times. But i work in entertainment/perform in front of large crowds a lot, so the chances of it happening are probably higher than a guy who works in the office with the same 5 people everyday.
The first time was when the Apple Watch had just been released, and I had the regular silver model. A lady in line beside me at my corner store complimented it. I got a few more compliments here and there over the next few months.
Later that year, around Christmas time, I saw that the Space Black Stainless Steel model — finally available with the black sports band — was on sale at Best Buy for $499, so I grabbed it and sold the silver watch. The SB watch didn’t get many compliments, probably because it was cold outside so it was covered up a lot, and also because when paired with a knockoff black link band, it’s basically this monolithic solid black thing on your wrist and it was hard to tell what it even was unless you got up close. This was before the always on display, of course.
My Series 2 Silver Stainless got a compliment here and there, but like my previous Apple Watches, it was more likely to get a compliment when paired with a sports band than a more expensive one. I have no clue why.
Skipped over to Android world for a year or so, then hopped back over. My Series 5 Gold Stainless...well, I got that in March, and I’ve been home 95% of the time. My wiener dog seems to like it, though.
I think I’m going to keep my Series 5 longer than I have any other Apple watch, mainly because I LOVE this color, and it makes me sad that they ditched it for yellow gold.
Somewhat relevant: Even before the always on display was a thing, I had to learn to turn it on DND + theater mode before I went on stage, because I wear it on the same hand that I hold a mic in, and if a notification pops up, it distracts the crowd.
Sometimes I’ll be hanging out with other performers back stage or at the bar, between sets, and they compliment it, and then ask to try it on. One time I was sitting with a buddy/fellow performer in the back of the bar, having a beer after my set. He was asking me questions about it, so I put it on his wrist.
It was paired with the Milanese loop, and he was pretty wowed by it. I showed him the ECG function, and his heart rate was like, 130. Just sitting in the back of the bar, having a beer. I was like, “dude, that’s super high...do you feel ok?” He said he felt fine.
Then like a minute later, he’s like, “oh, wait, I did do
some coke like twenty minutes ago.” Well, yeah, that’ll explain that.
