Hi guy's,

This post is just a bit fun! Which case colour, strap or watch face have you been complimented the most with.?

Having owned several mechanical I found certain models would be a great conversation starter etc. I'm just wondering does the same type of comments and compliments occur with smart watches ( apple one obviously)

{Black stainless with the brown Leather loop}. Awesome combo. The black stainless watch has so much potential with band pairing, but you have to experience it in person to really appreciate the highlights of different colored bands.

None, no one just randomly says "Nice watch dude!". If they do, they are most likely mocking you because you have the 44mm an tiny wrists 🤷‍♂️

Why would anyone give compliments for something as commonplace as an Apple Watch? That's like saying "ooh, I like your left nostril!"

My husband got a compliment on his Mickie Mouse watch face.

I've never had anyone mention mine but it's just black band, black case, black and white watch face.

I'm constantly complimenting myself on how great my titanium looks with my faux-link bracelet. Does that count?

Outside of that, my wife complimented the subtle blue accents on my charcoal loop the first time I wore it so I guess that would be the one on which I've had the most compliments.

No has complimented and unless a rare person is actually perceptive to it, they won’t notice the extra 250+ bucks or so you spent on “premium” case finish.

Do people get compliments based on their Apple Watch?! I thought they’re just like smartphones, everyone has one.

I have numerous times. But i work in entertainment/perform in front of large crowds a lot, so the chances of it happening are probably higher than a guy who works in the office with the same 5 people everyday.

The first time was when the Apple Watch had just been released, and I had the regular silver model. A lady in line beside me at my corner store complimented it. I got a few more compliments here and there over the next few months.

Later that year, around Christmas time, I saw that the Space Black Stainless Steel model — finally available with the black sports band — was on sale at Best Buy for $499, so I grabbed it and sold the silver watch. The SB watch didn’t get many compliments, probably because it was cold outside so it was covered up a lot, and also because when paired with a knockoff black link band, it’s basically this monolithic solid black thing on your wrist and it was hard to tell what it even was unless you got up close. This was before the always on display, of course.

My Series 2 Silver Stainless got a compliment here and there, but like my previous Apple Watches, it was more likely to get a compliment when paired with a sports band than a more expensive one. I have no clue why.

Skipped over to Android world for a year or so, then hopped back over. My Series 5 Gold Stainless...well, I got that in March, and I’ve been home 95% of the time. My wiener dog seems to like it, though.

I think I’m going to keep my Series 5 longer than I have any other Apple watch, mainly because I LOVE this color, and it makes me sad that they ditched it for yellow gold.

Somewhat relevant: Even before the always on display was a thing, I had to learn to turn it on DND + theater mode before I went on stage, because I wear it on the same hand that I hold a mic in, and if a notification pops up, it distracts the crowd.

Sometimes I’ll be hanging out with other performers back stage or at the bar, between sets, and they compliment it, and then ask to try it on. One time I was sitting with a buddy/fellow performer in the back of the bar, having a beer after my set. He was asking me questions about it, so I put it on his wrist.

It was paired with the Milanese loop, and he was pretty wowed by it. I showed him the ECG function, and his heart rate was like, 130. Just sitting in the back of the bar, having a beer. I was like, “dude, that’s super high...do you feel ok?” He said he felt fine.

Then like a minute later, he’s like, “oh, wait, I did do some coke like twenty minutes ago.” Well, yeah, that’ll explain that.

Yep never happened to me. But then I work in tech and everyone has multiple of these things or knows about it. So not a big deal in most cases. I guess it depends on your surroundings really.

yup, for sure. hopefully people buying the SS and Ti versions are doing it because they like it and not to impress anyone else because the truth is, nobody else cares.

Not received any complaints. Don’t think anyone even noticed I have it. But I only go from home to the office.

Complaints? Why would anybody complain about your Apple Watch you’re wearing? The thread references compliments.

You're correct. If YOU like it, and don't care about the extra expense, then great get that SS or Ti. My previous S0 black aluminum watch got a few people curious when it first came out, when it was relatively rare. But they're everywhere now, so that novelty factor is gone.

The most attention I've ever gotten from an Apple device was the very first iPhone in the first month of release. I got a ton of compliments and people just wanting to touch it.

Several of my coworkers have aluminum Apple Watches, so whenever someone comments on my stainless steel with stainless steel link band, one of them always chimes in with 'HIS is the more expensive one, it cost almost twice as much as mine' or similar. Slightly embarrassing, but whatever. This is my usual combo:

Although I've had this band for over five years, so I'm looking forward to getting this one, whenever Apple gets around to fulfilling my order:
