I am looking to buy a baseline MBP, except with a 250 gb hard drive. Is there a chance that they carry these at the Apple Stores?

they sell the 15" model at 3 different prices and they sell the 17" model at 3 different prices

the ram stays the same throughout (2GB) but the processor and the harddrive are different each level

So there's a chance that they do? I'm going to call tomorrow, I just wanted to know tonight! I guess one thing I have to learn when becoming an Apple fan is patience!

They stock only 5 configurations.

They stock the base configuration of those 3; nothing customized, just what it starts with. Then they stop 2 more configurations of a maxed out 15" and a maxed out 17"

If you need me to break it down they have these 5:

15-inch:

2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
200GB 5.4k hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256 MB
15" WSXGA LED panel (1440x900)
$1999

2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
250GB 5.4k hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512 MB
15" WSXGA LED panel (1440x900)
$2499

2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
200GB 7.2k hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512 MB
15" WSXGA LED panel (1440x900)
$2799

17-inch:
2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
250GB 5.4k hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512 MB
17" WSXGA+ CCFL panel (1680x1050)
$2799

2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
200GB 7.2k hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512 MB
17" WUXGA LED panel (1920x1200)
$3199

Ohhhh... Thanks for that. So it looks like I will be ordering it online. Thank you for finding the information.

I wanted to buy the 17" 2.5, 250GB HDD, etc with a HR screen, called and they said they had that configuration; I get to the store and they tell me they made a mistake... So yeah, you will need order online.
