I know their not top of the line or anything. I put this in the peripheral section, but by no response i assume i didnt put enough info. down. These both hit my goal for fairly large screen thats under $200. I would be hooking it to a MBP classic penryn, 256vid card. Now i know ones a dell but idk if that really means jack between these to monitors.

Acer

Dell

anyone? im just wondering if the extra 1.5" on the acer is worth the 20 bucks, or if acer is anygood to begin with

Not that I have had any hands on with either of these monitors I would go with the Dell, lots of people really seem to like Dell monitors in the Apple community and this looks like a pretty good deal.
The only thing I don't really like is the 16:9 aspect ratio, I prefer 16:10 as it gives you more vertical space but that's personal preference.
