I'm looking for a NAS that has Time Machine compatibility out of the box, and such that it works reliably. I haven't been able to find any positive/negative reviews or forum postings (regarding Time Machine performance) on any of the models below, and *none* on the LaCie. We have a 5big at work, but don't use it for Time Machine - it has been OK so far.

I originally considered a Drobo(v2)+DroboShare… but performance concerns, and lack of native Time Machine capability keep me from going this route.

The HD selected (for models that need one) is an $89 1TB eSata drive. The LaCie comes with 5 1TB drives.

I considered building my own… or even running OS X server… but do not want to go that route for many reasons, even if it would be the cheapest method.

Anyone have any experience with any of these models? The QNAP has a ton of features, some I would use but most that I don't really need (web server functionality - I run MAMP for web development).

Here are the models I'm considering, cheapest $/GB:
