So when i go home for the summer/spring, i am building an apartment in the garage of my house, and i want to get internet out there. I have a wireless router that will be in the house, however i have a Macbook pro, a desktop, and a xbox 360. So what i'm asking is if there is such thing as a base station that will get the wireless signal from the house, and let me plug wired devices like the xbox and desktop into it so i don't have to get wireless cards for the two, as well as slow down the network.

Yes pretty much any wireless router will (such as this one).

do you mean any router for in the house, or any router will be able to connect to another one and do what i'm wondering??

Any router in the house, otherwise you either want a wireless bridge, or something like an Airport Express (wireless N) might have enough range to do what you want...
