Hello,

First iPhone in years. I use my phones mainly for social media, twitter/IG and to listen to music, watch videos on youtube and to take pictures mainly of family and our pets with some scenery photography too though I'm no big expert at photography, The family/pet photos are the main need for a camera and just would like to get some nice quality close-ups.

Is the normal 12 sufficient for this camera wise? Or should I be considering the pro or pro max (only concern with pro max is the size and additional cost)?

Or as this is the first iPhone in a while, is it worth considering the 11 series as I'll be on contract and there's the upgrade after a year option there.

Cheers

With your requirements, if you get 11 series cheaper than the basic 12 series then go for it, if it doesn’t make much of a difference in cost then just get the basic 12 series.

Now that Verizon has dropped the preference for Verizon in the pricing, the iPhone 12 is suddenly a better deal than it was a couple of days ago.

I'd say the camera is far and away as good as almost anybody would need.

Thanks all. Sorry, I meant to put an apostrophe. 12's not 12s. I'm based in England too and there are some pretty good pre-order deals on the 12 and 12 pro. Don't think from what you've all said that I need to think about the pro max so just a matter of whether to pay the extra for the pro. As it's my first iphone in ages and a couple of years since the last phone, will need to get earbuds too and charger as well.
