i found on craiglist:
1. macbook aluminum late 2008 base model in perfect condition, brand new battery for $600
2. macbook pro 2010, still under warranty, base model in perfect condition too for $750. but i have to drive 2 hrs to pick it up

which one is better deal?

i just found out there r dents on the 2010 so i guess im going with the 2008. is there much different between the 2 models ?

Main differences:
* GPU
* Screen Quality
* FireWire Port
* SD Card Reader
* Audio/Mic Port
* Batttery

GPU:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - nVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics
* 2010 MBP - nVIDIA GeForce 320M Graphics

Screen Quality:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - Those with built date before April 2009 features very crappy screens IMHO. The ones built from April 2009 to early June 2009 features the newer & improved screens.
* 2010 MBP - Very good screen quality

FireWire Port:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - Don't have
* 2010 MBP - Have

SD Card Reader:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - Don't have it built in
* 2010 MBP - Have it built in

Audio/Mic Port:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - Separate, one for each
* 2010 MBP - Combo, one for both

Battery:
* Late 2008 Alu MB - User replaceable
* 2010 MBP - Non-user replaceable, but longer battery life

The late 2008 have crappy battery life even it is a new one.
Why the 2010 is priced so low? Doesn't sound right to me. Can you have it check at a local Apple Store before paying for it?

the seller gave me the serial # and it is confirmed mid 2009 model. so $750 is a decent deal rite? is the 2009 battery user replacable and last long enough?
