Hey guys,
Which one of these car mouns should I buy? The Lensington or the Satechi??

here are the links:
http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-K3...UU/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1294555778&sr=8-14

http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Black...1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1294555751&sr=8-2-fkmr0

I'm leaning toward the Satechi but I like the idea of amplified sound.

On a side note, does anybody know how well this works? I've read cabality issues with iphone 4:

http://www.amazon.com/Magellan-Prem...30IM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294556288&sr=8-1

Thanks!

Kensington

The one at 99$ is overpriced, and between both at 30 $ the Kensington one seems to be better.

meh...

Personally, without an integrated 30 pin connectors, they're too much trouble. But on the flip side the 30 pin connector is usually the first thing to start getting iffy performance.

I've tried the following:

http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-LiquidAUX-Deluxe-Auxiliary-Remote/dp/B0011UK2HO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1294610777&sr=8-2
Returned next day as it will not work in my car. The cig lighter is on the center console not the dash (ie vertical) and the flexible neck isn't flexible enough. Loved the steering remote idea though.

http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-K39200US-AssistOne-Handsfree-Device/dp/B0041RRNJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294610861&sr=8-1

Better but feels cheap. Also, want to use the vent clip assembly which only grips the vent at the top (too much movement/play). Bluetooth must be enabled and paired for Aux output to work.

http://www.amazon.com/Magellan-Premium-iPhone-iPod-touch/dp/B002WN30IM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294556288&sr=8-1
Best build quality of the dock itself. Great if suction cup holds...common amongst all. Sound quality for Aux out on mine sucks, but I suspect that its related to the connector on my iPhone as I RMAd the original dock (not entirely convinced though as sound quality is fine for a JPL ipod dock I have at the house..).

Roll the dice... they all have flaws and none have managed to capture all the needs.

in the UK you can get these from £5-£10 in the local markets...EXACT same thing. so please hunt around for a better price regardless which one you get, i got the 1st one for my HTC same design and works well but just a little on the bulky side

Check out proclipusa.com I've been using there mounts for years and love them. They have models with pass through connectors and I've never had one fail. They also are adjustable to iPhones with various cases. The vehicle is made for your vehicle too, not a suction cup mount.

those are nice but, the one for my car has my iphone in front of the heater. wouldnt heating the iphone for constantly be dangerous?

I picked this one up a few weeks back

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...m_re=kensington_iphone-_-75-992-158-_-Product

Was on sale for $13. I don't use the dash weight thinggy, buy the window suction cup works great, very adjustable. The sound amplification does work a bit. If you can wait I have seen it go back on sale for that price.

Now pair it with:

http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-CRUISER2-Bluetooth-In-Car-Speakerphone/dp/B0043M668G

and you have a great system, When using my Navigon GPS the voice comes from the jabra NICE and LOUD, can be heard with windows open and over the radio. Very NICE. This unit also allows voice dialing of my 3Gs.

I use a Jabra too, +1 to that .. I absolutely love it! It's definitely worth the price, I use it with my GPS app and it's FM transmitter to make calls while driving, simply fold down your visor slightly and all my callers say they can here me almost perfectly with a little background noise (obviously cause my vehicle isn't too quiet). Not to mention the battery life of the cruiser is phenomenal!!
