Used for portability and just general use. Same price I just don't know which is more important, 2.6 i5 w/16GB or 2.8 i7 w/8Gb. Both are more machine than will be needed but at the same price I don't know which one to buy. Help please.

definitely 16gb memory.

tests showed that the 2.8 i7 is only 3-5% faster than the 2.6 i5.

You, nor will anyone else, notice that 3-5% difference.
