Hi guys,

In my quest for a phone with a larger screen (like the Galaxy S3 or Note 2, for example) I've been reading lots of phone reviews. One thing that I totally forgot to consider, but is VERY important to me, is camera quality. I take a lot of pictures and a lot of videos with my iPhone, so any phone I buy will need a decent camera. At least as good as the iPhone.

So... which phones have the best quality cameras for both pictures AND video?

Are any of them better than the iPhone in this regard? If not better, what about just as good?

Thanks! :)

GS3 and Note 2 take good pics and videos with near or same quality as the iPhone 5 IMO. There is also the Lumia 920(which has been highly talked about as having one of the best cameras) if you want to go the Windows Phone route.

Thanks. Is one better than the other? (GS3 vs N2) Or are they exactly the same?

Hmmm... I hadn't considered it, but maybe it's time to do some research! ;)

The GS3 has the same camera as the 4S, depending on which version you get. I have a feeling that some come with samsung sensors, and others with the sony ones (with the sony one's being better).

There's a code you can punch in the keypad to let you know which module you have

It's hard to beat the 5's camera. Maybe the 920? The GS3 seems almost as good, as do others.

I almost fell out of my seat reading this

OP, Lumia 920 (WP8) and HTC One X+ (Android) have top notch cameras with fast shutter speeds.

iPhone 5 has better camera in low light situations and the video quality in low light is also amazing. For example I shot a show at stage view and the video quality and sound quality was awesome with no muddy sound from being so close to the monitors on stage.

The 920 has the best camera on a phone I have ever personally used. Better than the iPhone 5.

Wp8 has its good and bad- it's really going to depend on what you personally need your phone to do.

Nokia Pureview 808. Absolutely the best camera phone on the market. It's not even close.

I have both the iPhone 4S and Note 2.

I'm happy with the quality on both cameras. I prefer the iPhone 4S because I find photos to be a little overexpose on the Note 2 especially in low light settings with bright elements like a candle or monitor that's on.

However, the Note 2 has amazing shutter speed. Much much faster than iPhone 4S. You can take like 10 pictures a second on the Note 2. You can even do slow mo videos on the Note 2. Kinda cool.

Also the Note 2 auto-focuses twice as fast as my iPhone 4S. The drawback is that it seems to lose focus pretty quick requiring me to retake the photo.

My cousin has the Lumia 920 and the pics he took at both Thanksgiving and Christmas were just amazing. He didn't even need the flash in situations that you would most definitely need a flash on other cameras. If camera is a criteria, then the 920 should definitely be way high on your list.

I looked at the 920 today. I'm not at all familiar with the Windows Phone so it was a bit difficult to use, so I'll need to go back and look at it again.

Saw concrete evidence that the Nokia Lumia 920's Pureview camera triumphs all the others. It's camera is almost legendary, no joke. Nokia did an excellent job in this area.:)
