I am on the market for the PowerMac regardless of intel thing. And I am thinking about getting Dual 1.8Ghz (rev B) at a good price. But I can get dual 2.0Ghz (rev C) at cheaper price without apple care

Dual 1.8Ghz
256MB RAM
80GB HDD
64MB VRAM
Apple Care
$1799.00(36month interest free from compusa :p )

Dual 2.0Ghz
512MB
160GB
128MB VRAM
NO Apple Care
$1799(with edu discount)-$100(edu rebate)=$1699(Apple store)

I plan to do lots of sceientific computing with it (probably parallel computing to take advantage of both processors). So VRAM is not a big problem.

Thanks in advance

If you want a faster machone. go with the dual 2.0 . if you really care about apple care plan go with dual 1.8

get the 2ghz, better, then save fro applecare cuz u geta year to buy it

I agree with that. You can always get the Applecare later... if you want it. But I never buy applecare on desktops, and have never needed it. Laptops are another story.
