Hi

Apple recommends using the 5W USB-A power adapter. Can one use a 20W USB-C adapter or will that damage the watch?

It probably won't. I charged it using a 20W, 40W and 60W adaptor. The watch charging puck only draws 5V, ~ 0.7 Amp (very little power) so I think it controls the power it draws.

I used apple OEM USB C charger and USB A charger for testing so results might differ if you use a non apple charger.
