is it $150 better? why? -just wanting to know i guess the burning doesn't matter to me and the graphics are likely fine, the ram is upgradeable and the cpu difference is negligible..

first.

150 dollars gets you a newer machine, more RAM, probably bigger hd? faster processor, and better graphics.

I flipped a coin :)

No, seriously... to ME the $150 is also negligible at that price and you get a slightly better machine

If you plan on upgrading the RAM on either machine, you might want to factor that cost, etc. but that is a different story

As is... I would get the first one
You won't go wrong with either... just personal preference

If you don't think you'll need the extra power, go for the second one, but do consider it's a 2006 model. If you don't, then go for the first one, it will be a little more, though will be more recent as well.

i guess the first one also has LED and firewire 800. does that make the first choice a lot easier doesn't it?

My advice, buy the best you can afford. If you want to keep this mbp for a little longer, get the first one. Also, it'll probably have better resale value.

2.16 will serve you a lot better.. really. if it was in the question i would ask you / suggest 2.4 at least...

How would a 2.16GHz serve him better? The 2.2GHz supports 4GB, has nVidia 8600, LED Screen, and a faster processor. At $150, its worth it.

OP: Spend an extra $150 and get the 2.4GHz if you can.
