I am LEANING towards purchasing the third one.

Also, those of you who have purchased refurbs before. Do they come just like you bought them new? In original packaging and such? Have you had any problems with them? I plan on purchasing apple care sometime down the road (within a year of course).

I just figure I can't pass on the opprotunity to get a dedicated GPU and 6mb L2 cache for the price of the high end 13" mbp.

I won't be getting the free ipod but this gives me the excuse to wait until they update them in september to get one. It is a win win!

Lastly, do I think I am making the right choice buying a refurb over the "newer" models?

Sorry, but Apple's refurbished Macbook Pros are packaged inside of a plain white box; they do not sport the same packaging as Macbook Pros bought new off the shelf. Thankfully, they are, in reality, better than buying a new one because they undergo thorough checks in preparation for being sold as refurbs :) So no problems there!

Frankly, I believe you should feel secure in buying a refurb. They contain the same in-box accessories as their "new in box" siblings and will probably face fewer problems during operation ^____^ And that's always a good thing.
