Hi. I have spilt liquid on my macbook pro, which has damaged the keyboard internally. After disecting my mac, cleaning the keyboard thoroughly, only few keys still function...

These are my macbook pro specs (very old now)
battery is a A1175 model no.
it is a 2.0 ghz 15" 5000rpm 256/512mb (now 2 gig)

I have now been searching for some time for the replacement keyboard but am cautious that if I purchase one from ebay, it will not work with my specific model. I have found many like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-922-7183-...Trackballs&hash=item2eb3a88939#ht_1357wt_1139
but again, nothing reassuring me that it will deffinitely work with my model.

Any help would be awesome. thanks.

Have you tried going to a local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider? Sometimes they'll have spare parts like this kicking around that they'd be willing to sell (and even install for you) for a small fee.

Outside of that, the best thing you could really do is buy one and try it to see if it works. I tried looking up on your model number on iFixit but it doesn't seem to be listed at all.

Best of luck and have a great day. :)

yeah... just as i feared. Only problem is I rang the apple store to see if they could help, they were going to charge me a 120$ installation fee....takes me less than 5 minutes to dissassemble..and 80 for the part.

thnx though.
