Which one i should get? It's going to be my first macbook!

I would suggest you buy rmbp 15 from apple store with $200 student discount and 100 dollars gift card. The 2013 base model is $1999 after student discount. I just got my first mac from them !

Both options you listed are 2012 model. I saw option one from bestbuy clearance at $1999. The location is at south bay, boston. I think the selling price difference between 2012 and 2013 model is around $200.

If you want 2012 model, i would suggest you to buy from apple store online. they got refurbished 2012 base model at $1599.

If you can wait for a month, just buy it when haswell processor model arrives.

$1999 on apple website is for 8GB 2.4 and 256GB
If I want 513GB, I will add $300 (student price)
So overall is $2299 + tax which is out of my budget.
I bought a refurbished rmbp 15" last month, but I ended up return it due to some noises.

I do believe that 2013 version is better than 2012 version. My rmbp is very quite although a bit hot.

Too bad you have make a decision between older model or smaller SSD.

Could you guys choose in these 2 choices?
If I buy a refurb one, it would cost $2100 in the same specs.

$2000 is the max I can go.

Thanks

I don't know that account but wow! Similar name!

Is that you, dragonjinse?

How is this difficult? They're the exact same specs, just different warranty dates.

$130 more for a longer warranty. Buy the cheaper one and buy AppleCare for $240.

If you can't also buy AppleCare before 9/2013 then buy the one with the longer warranty which gives you time to save for AppleCare.

Yes and he is also looking at that exact machine for similar prices. He also bought a refurb rMBP recently and returned it due to weird noises. Just like you.

Okay cool! I should message him. Maybe he can help me out.
Thx
