which should i do? sell or replace?

i have a black 16 gb iphone black. the iphone is perfectly functional and only has 3 scratches on the screen. it has never touch water ( and shows no signs of water damage) but the water sensor was activated ( the usb port one) it also has a small crack in the back about one inch by the usb port. i want to sell it and get the new iphone 3rd gen when it comes out. i did this from 2g to 3g and actually made a profit.
now what should i do? how much do you think it would warrant on ebay. or should i do apples new water damage replacement thing and pay the $199 ( is that for 16 gb aswell?) and then sell it on ebay as like new.
which do you think would put me closest to paying for the new iphone fully?

Have you talked to them about warranty yet? Related to the crack? Sometimes they will replace it even if one water sensor is activated. This way you can sell the brand new phone which will go for more.
