Between heaven and hell
I am thinking about getting an Apple smart cover, made of polyurethane, not leather, for my new iPad. I noticed that there are two versions (model numbers) for each color. For example, there are two model numbers, MD948LL/A and MD308LL/A, for the pink one.

For those of you who have an Apple smart cover that works with the new iPad (3rd gen), what is the model number of your smart cover? Of course, by "working", I mean the smart cover needs to automatically sleep and wake the iPad.

Supposedly if you get one that doesn't work, you can exchange it at an Apple Store for one that will. If you live somewhere without a nearby Apple Store, I'd say go to Walmart or Target to get one - they have good exchange policies.

There are two different part numbers because Apple tweaked the color of the Smart Cover in November 2011 (I think that was the month) causing them to be slightly different.

I have the dark grey polyurethane. It works perfectly with the new iPad.

Model: MD306LL/A

Not sure if that helps at all. :)
