I'm considering the 256GB Crucial M4 SSD SATA3 6Gbs HD. Going to install it on my iMac 27" as an addition to the 2TB HDD. Is this SSD reliabe? What do you think?

Have a look at Anandtech for comparisons of SSDs: http://www.anandtech.com/tag/storage

However (using Newegg pricing), at $459 for a 256GB M4, you're almost in Vertex 3 territory, and the latter is the faster drive. If reliability is a major concern, look at the ($550) Intel 510.

Ultimately though, the difference between top-end SSD's is minor compared to the difference between a HDD and a SSD. Pick a good brand with good support and you're set.
